- The Centre Missionnaire au Coeur d'Afrique (CEMICA) is both non denominational and interdenominational ministry that has three-fold objective: Mobilize churches for mission, Train church members for mission, Send out African missionaries. CEMICA has a global and holistic approach to mission. Every year we hold Mission Leadership conference for church leaders. This year 2009, we will have one of our largest conferences in Kinshasa, 1-5 July. Since 2003, we have trained about 800 pastors and lay leaders from 60 denominations. We started the mission-minded church planting movement in 2006 to meet the third objective of CEMICA. We have now 72 local mission-minded churches in 5 provinces in DRCongo and one in Central African Republic. After her studies at African Leadership Institute for Community Transformation in South Africa, my wife Ir Mamie B. Fohle is now setting up Abigail Women Schools in these churches in order to empower women and make them agents of community transformation.
We are also developing and implementing academic courses for Theological Seminaries in French speaking countries. Because our passion and academic skills are for Mission and Leadership, we teach the following courses for undergraduate and graduate students: (1)LEADERSHIP MISSIONNAIRE POUR LA TRANSFORMATION COMMUNAUTAIRE for Undergraduate; (2)LEADERSHIP MISSIONNAIRE POUR LA TRANSFORMATION COMMUNAUTAIRE for Graduate; (3)ANALYSE BIOGRAPHIQUE DES MISSIONNAIRES AFRICAINS in partnership with www.dacb.org for both undergraduate and graduate students; (4)BUSINESS COMME MISSION or MISSION A TRAVERS LES AFFAIRES for Graduate students and for Christians Professional Business People.
We are not only academic people. As grass-root church leaders, we also serve as Consulting in Mission and Leadership through Coaching Workshops with focus on (1)LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT FOR VISION CONTINUATION, (2)COMMUNITY TRANSFORMATION THROUGH HOLISTIC MINISTRIES; (3)VISION AND GOALS SETTING FOR PERSONAL AND PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT. Any church, individual or a group of people can apply or invite us.
Our vision is that African churches will be really among the World Global and Holistic Mission Forces by mobilizing, training, sending out and supporting their missionaries. We have been receiving "missionaries" for a long period; it's time for us to send African missionaries. ...And, we can do it with Jesus!
