Introduction:

IGEM was founded through pastor Michael Wafula in Kenya in early 1996 and the vision bore fruits in 2000, which was selected by expressed need and later on spread from Kenya to Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda, Burundi, Sudan, Malawi, Zimbabwe, Botswana, Zambia and Zaire and we are focusing to reach many parts of the world. As God provides. pastor Michael Wafula also is the senior pastor of Glory Fellowship Ministry, Husband to Phoeb Nasimiyu Wafula who is settled in Kitale Kenya along with the family. He joined the Bible school in 1991-1993 East Africa Pastoral and also he graduated for Diploma from Voice of Deliverance Bible collage. This year in June 2007 he was honored the honorary degree of Doctor of Divinity from one of Universty theology for this indigenous ministry IGEM for uniting evangelical to build the body of Christ. Pentecostal churches and none spiritual churches for working together
Our current vision is to reach to many parts of Africa and the world. We have started feeling the growth of IGEM in the above countries and despite the fact of financial, problems that we are faced with, we are set to accomplish much as God shall provide. IGEM currently in Kenya we have 4,891 churches and 2130 across the above mentioned countries totaling to 7,021 as IGEM members file report & around 687 Ministries, with Churches and Ministries across East, West and Central Africa. This is according to Zonal Monthly Reports.
& Background
It was in 1996 that Rev. Michael Wafula organized a unity Conference in Kitale town. Many pastors attended the conference and he hoped that after the meeting, the leaders will work together in unity to realize the blessing of God.
The talk of unity on the lips of all the ministers who attended the meeting for some times and then died out and everybody went back to their normal way of doing things.
The minister did not ask the leaders to break their respective churches and join one major one to realize the unity, but rather asked them to co-operate in organizing crusades, meetings, seminars, and not to talk against each other, but rather assist each other in times of need. This was received with excitement and there were a lot of talks from pastors on the need to start acting towards the goal. But as time passed by, the excitement died out and the talk for unity stopped eventually.
Even though, the talk of unity in his Kitale town had died out, he had the burning desire in his heart to see the implementation of what God had spoken and inspired to him.
In the Conference Rev. Michael Wafula and the team taught God’s word under heavy anointing and stressed the need for unity if ever the Christians in Africa and the world need blessings from God. At the end of the meeting, everybody realized that the need for unity is a process, which must begin with first equipping the body of Christ and being united for building the Body of Christ as is stated in the Book of John 17:21.
He shared with some ministers that the need to start the ministry beyond our boundaries, a body that can first educate ministers on issues that hinders unity. This was received with different reactions some seeing him as a day dreamer because it will cost a price to accomplish the vision. Some encouraged him to go a head and lay the strategy that would be acceptable to all leaders.
After much prayer and fasting Rev. Michael got the revelation about the Name IGEM. Many ministers realized his intentional vision some joined and some saw him as a dreamer because of his poor background in life and they realized that he himself needed to be supported in many aspects of life. Judging by the many voices of discouragements, he could have given up if it were not for that the Lord Himself one who was working in him.
He did not give up talking about IGEM though the most prominent ministers in town who could have made it easy to accomplish the vision gave little or no attention to him.
Our Vision.
We trace to the original church of Jesus Christ. We follow the same teaching and practice the same teaching that was found in him the 1st century (Psalms 133: 1-3, Acts 4:32-34, Ephesians 4:13, John 17:21). We accept to be used as a vessel with God to unite the scattered organs back to the body of Christ through active service. It is evident that early Christian church came together in such fellowship as a representative body of saved spirit-filled believers who ordained and sent out evangelists and missionaries who are under the supervision of the Holy Spirit set over the church pastors and teachers. We recognize ourselves as a cooperative fellowship of Pentecostal assemblies of like precious faith in ones life. We cultivate, strengthen, equip and release out that he/she may be somebody to fulfill what God has called him/her to accomplish, because all of us were created for a purpose. Let us make them to know him and to the unknown Ezekiel 37:5b “……surely will cause breath to enter into you, and you shall live…” Says the Lord God of host.
HEART FOR THE MINISTRY
My burning desire is to see my home country Kenya, East Africa, and the whole continent restored back to the plan of God. It came to my realization that why African continent has suffered from war, famine, diseases and tribal clashes and among other calamities.
I got only the solution through the book of Psalms 133:1-3 where the Bible says “How good and pleasant for the brothers to dwell together in unity. It is like the precious oil upon the head, running down on the beard. The beard of Aaron, running down on the edge of his garments. It is like the dew of Hermon, descending upon the mountains of Zion; for there the LORD, commanded the blessing and life forever more.”
The Holy Spirit convicted me through this verse. And the Bible says that all creatures are crying to see the sons of God to become mature. If the church will work its part separating from evil of the world, sanctified, through the blood of the lamb then God Himself will command his blessings, Isaiah 60:1 “A rise and shine your light has come and the glory of the Lord is risen upon you. For behold the darkness will cover the earth and deep darkness the people; and the Lord will arise over you, (church). The nations shall come to your light (Nations) and Kings to the brightness of your light. Lift up your eyes all around and see. They all gather together, they come to you.”
If the church in Africa will come in the unity and love then God Himself will bless the continent and what the enemy has stolen will be restored back seven times.
Lift up your eyes all around you. This means that the Lord will lighten the eyes of the church to see invisible and the secret treasure which is hidden in the continent.
King Cyrus was not a Jew, but God used Cyrus to accomplish His vision for building the church in Jerusalem. Isaiah 45:1-3 “thus says the Lord to his anointed, to Cyrus whose right hand I have held to subdue Nations before him and loose the armor of Kings to open before him the double doors, so that the gates will not be shut. ‘ I will go before you and make the crooked place straight, I will break in pieces the gates of Bronze and cut the bars of iron. I will give you the treasures of darkness and hidden riches of hidden secret places, that you may know that I , the LORD, who call you by your name , Am the God of Israel” who restored my church in Africa into perfection. If the church in Africa will arise and shine in this age, then the prophecy will come to pass that the glory of the latter days church will be more than the first glory. This is the commanding blessings of unity.
Purpose.
To prepare the believers to be the saints of the bridegroom to all nations from Africa to the world over-which is the glorious sport or wrinkle (Ephesians 5:27)
Focus.
We are looking forward for the fulfillment of the precious servants of the Lord who will be instruments for the master’s use (2 Timothy 2:21), and also for the indigenous missionaries from all the nations to join us. As the prophecy of Zephaniah 3:9.
Activities.
We reach out through public rallies, open air meetings, minister’s conferences, ministry founders, coupes conferences, women workshops, youth/children missionaries, missionary training through equipping, releasing and sending out. We reach the local villages, towns, cities nationally and internationally as stated. IGEM also recognizes the community and we encourage each member in the district to work with community based organizations, self help group that we may work also for the benefit of church and community. So we encourage our members to form groups and the churches itself to contribute to support the needy as was the focus of the early church. So we appeal to the world wide saints to be part and parcel of this programme. We also have compass ional ministry to support widows through counseling and small businesses so that they may be self reliant and for the single mothers to provide with training and helping them to be self employed. We also care for orphans, destitute and abandoned through home based care in their local churches. We reach out to change the world through youth missions and etc.
“How beautiful upon the feet of him that bringeth good tidings, that publisheth peace that tiding of good that publisheth salvation; that saith unto Zion, thy God reigneth! Thy watchmen shall lift up the voice; with the voice together shall they sing; for they shall see eye to eye, why the Lord shall bring again Zion” (Isaiah 52:7-8).
IGEM NEEDS
Spiritual Mentors;
It is a time to seek direction from our heavenly Father we must find and discern the spiritual mentors and fathers that will provide this Biblical standard of oversight into our lives. If we are led well, we will lead well. II Peter 2:10 we must have true cover for the hour that’s upon us and then we shall be built upon the sure foundation stone, that shall never be moved and the gates of hell shall not prevail against the church in Africa.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION
NORTH RIFT CHRISTIAN RESOURCE CENTRE.
The Centre was formed as one of the department in IGEM body in 2002 with vision of having a complex which will carter for all department, Ministries, Churches including offices and other needs especially for North Rift region. IGEM country wide is having about 4,891 Churches this is according to zonal reports and having around 600 zones in 21 Districts four regions.

In North Rift we have about 125 ministries with over 1,320 Churches which will benefit from the centre. The purpose of this centre will be serving its members and also for creating employment for members and for the community. The Church will benefit for coming together and strengthening one another and also for equipping the saints for the work of the ministry (PRAYERS CENTRE). This will be historical for this country to have a prayer mountain centre for an interdenominational will help the body of Christ to seek the face of God and to have time in the presence of God. In this centre we shall have separate hostels for fasting and also the hall for the whole congregation which gather about 500 - 700 for those who will be coming for fasting and intersession weekly.

CONFERENCE HALL
This hall will help the body at least to host about 2500 ministers. This will gather the representatives of various zones/ Churches within the region and we shall be having monthly meetings. Other sites will be helping for hosting the conferences within the ministry members and also it will be an income generating form the people who may want to use our facilities. In this conference hall we shall have the separate hostels, Kitchens, Stores and other rooms including separate free halls which will take about 50 - 100 people.


RADIO STATION
Radio station is very important for church issues it is also a way of promoting evangelism and unity in the body of Christ through equipping and strengthening the body of Christ, in another way of generating income, this is to mean that every language within the region will be free to represent and to minister through their languages that the Gospel may go forth for every creature.

CHRISTIAN TOURS AND TRAVEL
Many Christian brethren that come to Kenya would also like to visit some famous game reserves and national parks. Tour operators who charge a lot of money for transport services to these places. But this group feels that if the body had vehicles that could be of use to the brethren who need to tour such places, relatively cheaper charges can work, the ministry might use the funds for maintaining the vehicles, while at times when there are no visiting ministers the vehicles will not be restricted to only ministers and Christian tourists but also to anybody who loves our services. This will be an income generating activity to assist the region to realize its goal for equipping the body of Christ locally and internationally.

CHRISTIAN GUESTHOUSE
We shall be having in the facility Christian guest house. This guest house will be strictly for Christians and workers will be committed members for their churches, they will be paying tithe. The main purpose of this hostel is to support the work of God within the region.

REGIONAL OFFICES
Members have agreed and proposal that all regional offices will be in the resources centre and also we shall have a district office which will serve the members in the district within which shall have one conference hall for official meetings. We pray that these may come to pass.
